Education

Dr Heather Totten graduated from Bristol University, UK in December 1982. She worked in the UK in general practice and held in teaching role at Queens University, Belfast, before relocating to the UAE in 1987 where she took up a post at Tawam Hospital in AL Ain.

Professional

In 1989 she moved into private practice in Dubai, spending 10 years with Peter Smith's practice in Jumeirah. She spent 8 years at the British Dental Clinic and moved to Medicentres in Motor City in 2008.

In 2015 she helped establish Park Avenue Dental Clinic, also in Motor City. In January of 2023 she rejoined Park Avenue after a few motnhs enjoying life back in her home town of Belfast.

Dr Heather has a special interest in modern cosmetic non-invasive dentistry, incorporating clear aligner treatment and the Align, Bleach and Bond (ABB) philosophy. She firmly believes in conservative ethical dentistry and enjoys treating children 'of all ages'. She is an acredited practitioner of the SMART protocol, safe mercury amalgam removal technique.
